The Jefferson City community is mourning the heartbreaking loss of Eliana Adelynn “Ellie” Holland, an 11-year-old girl remembered for her joyful personality, compassionate heart, artistic creativity, and love for family, skating, animals, and friendship.
Ellie passed away on Friday, May 8, 2026, leaving behind an outpouring of grief from family members, school friends, teammates, neighbors, and countless others whose lives were brightened by her presence. Though her passing has brought profound sorrow, loved ones say her unforgettable spirit and infectious energy will continue to live on through the many memories she created during her short but meaningful life.
Born on November 12, 2014, in Jefferson City, Missouri, Ellie was the beloved daughter of Theresa Jean Miloro and Joseph Walter Holland. From an early age, she displayed a personality larger than life — fearless, imaginative, compassionate, and filled with endless curiosity about the world around her.
As a fifth-grade student at Trinity Lutheran School, Ellie became known for her honesty, humor, and ability to connect easily with others. Friends describe her as energetic and genuine, someone who spoke openly, laughed often, and cared deeply about the people around her. Whether inside the classroom or among friends, Ellie had a way of making ordinary moments feel brighter.
One of Ellie’s greatest passions was ice skating. She proudly skated with the Capital Classics Synchronized Skating Team as part of the Aspire 3 team, where she developed close friendships and embraced the teamwork and dedication the sport required. Those who knew her through skating say she approached the ice with excitement, confidence, and determination, always eager to learn and improve while encouraging those around her.
Ellie’s creativity touched nearly every aspect of her life. She loved art projects and especially enjoyed designing colorful nails using glitter, stamps, and vibrant decorations. Her playful imagination could often be seen in the little things she treasured most — including her beloved collection of plastic ducks, which she frequently shared with family members, neighbors, and friends as acts of kindness meant to spread happiness.
Family members say one of Ellie’s most beautiful qualities was her compassion for others. She formed meaningful friendships with elderly neighbors, often visiting them, caring for plants, and giving thoughtful gifts simply to make them feel loved and remembered. Despite her young age, she possessed a remarkable ability to connect with people from all walks of life.
Animals also held a special place in Ellie’s heart. She loved snakes, turtles, fish, dogs, and countless other creatures, approaching them with fascination and care. At home and outdoors, she found joy in adventure — riding four-wheelers and UTVs, gathering around bonfires, and spending time with loved ones in nature.
Those closest to Ellie say her happiest moments often came through simple family traditions. She loved cooking pancakes and spaghetti, stopping for donuts from Schulte’s, attending football practices with her cousin Chris, and spending time playing Minecraft with her father. Every activity became more meaningful because of the excitement and laughter she brought into it.
Loved ones affectionately describe Ellie as “spicy,” fiercely honest, funny, and full of personality. Yet beneath her spirited nature was a deeply loving child who cared wholeheartedly for her siblings, family, teammates, friends, neighbors, and animals. Her presence brought comfort and joy to so many, making her loss especially devastating for the community surrounding her.
Ellie is survived by her parents, Theresa Jean Miloro and Joseph Walter Holland; her siblings Elaina and Mason Holland; grandparents; great-grandparents; numerous aunts, uncles, cousins; her cherished dog Brodie; and many relatives and friends who will forever treasure the memories they shared with her.
Visitation services will take place Wednesday, May 13, 2026, from 3:00 p.m. until 6:00 p.m. at Freeman Mortuary. Funeral services will immediately follow in the Freeman Chapel.
While the pain of losing Ellie is impossible to measure, those who loved her say her beautiful spirit will never fade. Her laughter, creativity, kindness, and love for life remain woven into the hearts of everyone who knew her, ensuring that her memory will continue shining brightly for years to come.
