According to Virginia State Police, the fatal collision occurred at approximately 1:06 a.m. on Sunday, May 10, 2026, along southbound I-95. Investigators said Tamara Eddy was driving when her vehicle struck the rear of a stopped tractor-trailer that had halted in the roadway due to an earlier crash.
Authorities stated that the impact caused catastrophic damage to Eddy’s vehicle. She suffered fatal injuries and was pronounced deceased at the scene by emergency responders. The driver of the tractor-trailer was not injured.
Troopers said the crash remains under active investigation.
